General Conditions of Ticket Sale


These General Conditions of Sale apply to any purchase of Tickets made by a person on the Website of the Bex Salt Mines Foundation (hereinafter BSMF) for a visit to the Bex Salt Mines.

The Client, as defined below, is requested to read the General Conditions of Sale carefully, since they define the contractual relations between the Client and BSMF and the conditions that apply to the purchase of Tickets online.

The Client acknowledges that these General Conditions of Sale have been translated into English. In the event of any discrepancy between this translation and the original text, the French version shall be authoritative.

Confirmation of the order of a Ticket via the current Website involves entering into a binding contract and implies the unconditional acceptance by the Client of all the General Conditions of Sale, which he acknowledges he has read before confirming his purchase. The Client accepts the provisions on security and access as well as the supplementary regulations relating to the visit to the Site.

The Client is aware that in the event of a breach of these regulations, he will be denied access to the Site and will not be entitled to compensation. The supplementary regulations will will be published on the Bex Salt Mines Website or will be printed on the Ticket itself.

The applicable General Conditions of Sale are those that are in force on the Website on the date the Ticket is purchased. The BSMF reserves the right to adjust or modify these General Conditions of Sale at any time, insofar as is permitted by law.

It is advisable to purchase the Tickets in advance and to book a date and time when planning the visit to the Bex Salt Mines.


All the terms defined below which begin with a capital letter shall have the following meanings, regardless of whether they are used in the singular or plural:

“Ticket”: shall mean the document that gives its holder a right to admission to the Bex Salt Mines, irrespective of how it was issued and its medium, purchased by the Client on the Website. The Tickets prices are available on the Website.

“Client”: shall mean anyone who purchases or books a Ticket on the Website and has accepted the General Conditions of Sales pursuant to the provisions set forth in Article 3.2 hereto.

“General Conditions of Sale”: shall mean the present general conditions, the purpose of which is to define the conditions of purchase and use of the Tickets.



The Client will choose the number of Tickets he requires and the date and time of the visit, depending on the available slots.

The available times are accessible on the Website. Some slots may be full and hence unavailable.


By clicking on "Confirm" at the end of the ordering process and ticking the box “I accept the General Conditions of Sale”, the Client declares that he has read and unconditionally accepted all the General Conditions of Sale.


The sole method of payment online is by credit or debit card: Visa, Mastercard or Maestro.

After checking the order and accepting the General Conditions of Sale as set forth above, the Client will redirected to a secure payment server which will allow him to pay for his order online on the basis of his credit or debit card details consisting of the number and expiry date of the credit card as well as the three digit security code on the back of the card.

The purchase will not be finalised until the Client has accepted the General Conditions of Sale and has confirmed his payment.

The amount of the order will be debited from the Client's bank account when the transaction is finally validated. Printable proof of payment will be sent to the Client at the end of the transaction.

If the payment is rejected by the payment centre, the purchase transaction will be cancelled automatically.

All purchases are binding and final, the Client will not be able to cancel or change the order once the payment has been confirmed. At the end of the ordering process, the Client will receive an e-mail confirming his purchase.

This e-mail is not valid for use as a Ticket. It may be used as proof of purchase of the Ticket, which will be issued in accordance with the provisions set forth in Article 4.3 “Issue of Tickets” below.



The Ticket is valid only for the date and time slot that are indicated on it.

The Ticket may not be cancelled, exchanged or refunded, subject to the provisions set forth in Article 5 of these General Conditions of Sale.

All Tickets are personalised and non-transferable; the Client is not permitted to resell the Ticket to a third party. The BSMF accordingly reserves the right to request valid photo identification and may refuse to admit any ticket holder to the Site who is suspected of having purchased a Ticket illegally.


The Ticket prices quoted are in Swiss francs and are payable in Swiss francs and in euros. The prices quoted include all taxes, but are exclusive of handling and postage charges, where applicable.

The applicable rate is the rate that is in force on the date of the visit. It is available on the Website.


The imprint of the confirmation page or the e-mail sent by the BSMF to the Client does not constitute a Ticket. Under no circumstances may this document be used as a Ticket to gain admission to the Site. The Ticket is either printed out or can be read via a smartphone, tablet or similar device.


Print-at-home Tickets are available and may be printed by the Client up until the date of the visit booked by the Client by clicking on the link contained in the confirmation e-mail.

The E-Ticket is not valid unless one (1) copy of it is printed on an ink jet or laser printer. A Ticket will only be valid (colour or black and white) if it has been printed with a resolution of at least 300 dpi and has not been printed in "economy" mode. The Client is responsible for ensuring that the Ticket is printed on both sides of a blank sheet of white A4 size paper, that the printer is a standard model and the ink cartridge or toner contains sufficient ink.

Each Ticket has a QR code that allows admission to the Site.

A good quality printout is essential. Tickets that are partially printed, soiled, damaged or illegible will not be accepted and will be deemed void. In the event of a hitch or poor print quality, the Client shall print his Ticket again. The Client shall verify that the printing is good quality by ensuring that the information stated on the Ticket as well as the QR code is entirely legible.

If the microstructures or the QR codes are damaged, irrespective of the manner, the Tickets will cease to be valid. If forged or illegally purchased Tickets (resulting in referral to the relevant authorities) are presented, the BSMF reserves the right to reject all the Tickets and to reimburse the holders of non-forged Tickets.

In the event of the loss or theft of an E-Ticket or duplication of an E-Ticket, only the first person who presents the said Ticket will be regarded as the legitimate holder of a Ticket and will be admitted to the Site. If the Ticket bears the holder's name, the BSMF may request an identity document when the Tickets are checked. This procedure is not mandatory.


An M-Ticket requires possession of a smartphone or tablet.

To be valid, one (1) copy of the M-Ticket must be downloaded by the Client in the form of an image on a smartphone, or opened directly in the mail application of a tablet prior to the start of the visit.


Tickets are not refundable. A purchase of a Ticket is final and cannot be cancelled by the Client.

The Tickets purchased cannot be returned and are not refundable, even if the Ticket is lost or stolen or mislaid on the occasion of the visit. The Client will not be provided with a duplicate.

The BSMF may be forced to restrict or ban admission to the Site.

If, due to an event of force majeure, the BSMF management is obliged to restrict admission to the Site or to a part of the Site for more than 2 consecutive hours, the amount reimbursed will be solely for the period of the limitation of access that is due to such a restriction. If restricted admission is due to a decision by the Public Authorities, requests for reimbursement will not be considered.

A reimbursement form will be provided on the Site when admission is restricted. The Client shall send this completed reimbursement form, together with the unused Tickets no later than one (1) month after the date of the visit. Requests for reimbursement will not be considered after this deadline.

Refunds will not be given on site. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged in the event of a delay or impossibility of admission to the Site due to the lateness of the Client or in the event of a delay that is attributable to the operation of the Site.

The BSMF cannot be held responsible for an event of force majeure that disrupts the smooth running of the visit to the Site, and may involve total or partial closure to the public, such as adverse weather conditions (snow, gas etc.) or a decision by the Public Authorities.



The visitor will arrive at the entrance building no later than the time stated on the Ticket that he brings with him.

The date and time stated on the Ticket are when the visitor is expected to go through the security check situated at the entrance to the Bex Salt Mines. It may be necessary to wait at peak times.

If visitors arrive after the time stated on the Ticket, latecomers will only be permitted to enter the Site if the maximum number of visitors in the following time slot has not been attained. Whether latecomers are admitted to the Site will depend on demand, since priority will be given to Clients who arrive on time for the tour.

It is emphasised that should an event of force majeure occur or a delay that is attributable to the operation of the Site, visitors with a reservation will be admitted to the Site in the order of their reservations.


Only Tickets with a bar code or QR code are valid.

Each Ticket is systematically checked at the entrance to the Site. This check is made by taking a reading of the bar code reproduced on the paper Ticket (printed E-Ticket), the Ticket on the smartphone/tablet screen and requesting proof of entitlement to a reduced rate (if applicable) and/or valid photo ID if the Ticket bears the holder's name.

The Ticket may not be resold. In this regard, the BSMF reserves the right to refuse any holders of a Ticket that has been purchased illegally admission to the Site.


The Client visits the Site entirely at his own risk.

The BSMF cannot be held liable for any unforeseeable and/or indirect loss suffered by the Client, including, but not limited to, loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, loss of profit, clients, data, any financial or commercial loss, any commercial difficulties or immaterial damage.

The BSMF cannot be held liable if the non-performance or improper performance of its obligations arising from the General Conditions of Sale is attributable (i) to the Client, or (ii) to an unforeseeable and insurmountable circumstance, a third party unfamiliar with the provision of the services stipulated in the General Conditions of Sale or (iii) an event of force majeure.

The BSMF is unable to assure the Client that the Site will completely meet his expectations or that the Website is totally free of errors.

The Website is accessible 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, subject to closure for maintenance or repair or an event of force majeure or any event that is outside the control of the BSMF. The BSMF cannot be held liable for any loss or damage sustained by the Client or a third party that arises from an inability to (i) access the Website, (ii) the Internet network, (iii) telecommunications and (iv) more generally, due to an event of force majeure, as defined in Swiss case law , when visiting the Website or placing an order.

The BSMF cannot be held liable for any loss that arises from using the Internet network, such as loss of data, intrusion, virus or interruption of the service.

The BSMF does not assume liability for any improper use of the Website and/or the online ticketing service by the Client or by any other third party. If a claim is brought against the BSMF on the grounds of a breach by the Client of any of the provisions of the General Conditions of Sale, the BSMF will be entitled to bring an action against the Client.

The Client is solely responsible for how he chooses to order the Ticket and for the manner of issuing the Ticket. The BSMF cannot therefore be held liable for any malfunction due to compatibility issues between the E-Ticket, the M-Ticket and the IT environment.


The Website and all the elements comprised therein (in particular logos, brands, domain names, titles, images or other contents provided by the BSMF) are the property of the BSMF or prior approval of their use by third parties has been obtained.


In order to handle orders and provide its services, the BSMF is obliged to process any personal data relating to the Client, which is recorded during the process of registering on the Website and/or placing an order for a Ticket.

The mandatory personal data are required for processing the orders and providing online services. If the Client does not complete the mandatory fields, the BSMF will not be able to process the orders and provide services. More particularly, the BSMF will not be able to contact the Client in the event of cancellation or a change to the date or time of the visit for which the Tickets were purchased, if this is likely.

All personal data will be kept confidential.

The Client gives his consent to receiving e-mails from the BSMF concerning changes to the pricing conditions, promotional offers or special events.



The BSMF will store the orders and payment receipts or invoices on a reliable and durable medium, which constitutes a true copy.

The computerised records maintained by the BSMF will be considered by the parties to be evidence of the communications, orders, payments and transactions that have have taken place between them.

The Client acknowledges that all correspondence and/or communications and/or transmission of information that takes place with the BSMF electronically have the same evidential power as a document on a paper medium.

If any of the provisions of the General Conditions of Sale prove to be void owing to a statutory provision in force or a court ruling becomes binding, it will be deemed invalid, but will not void the contract or affect the validity of the other provisions.


In the event of a complaint, the Client may contact the hotline, the details of which are contained in Article 10.3 of the General Conditions of Sale.

If it is not possible to reach an amicable solution, the case will be referred to the ordinary courts with jurisdiction in the matter.

This contract shall be exclusively governed by the law of the country in which the BSMF operates. Jurisdiction shall be determined on the basis of the domicile of the BSMF.
